NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN AWARD NOMINEES
Brit and Aussie foreign ministers first nominees in our annual “Nevies” for advancing appeasement and rewarding terrorism and tyranny.
David Cameron, the British foreign secretary, and Penny Wong, Australia’s foreign minister, are the first two nominees in the inaugural 2024 Neville Chamberlain Award for Appeasement.
The prestigious award, invented just now, will be presented at the end of the year to an individual or group that has done more than any other to advance appeasement and reward terrorism and tyranny.
Wong was nominated for her remarks last week, and Cameron, for his remarks earlier, that their governments are considering recognition of a Palestinian state.
Wong argued that Australia’s recognition of a state of Palestine could revive the failing Middle East peace process and undermine extremism.
“Recognizing a Palestinian state — one that can only exist side by side with a secure Israel — doesn’t just offer the Palestinian people an opportunity to realize their aspirations,” Wong said. “It also strengthens the forces for peace and undermines extremism. It undermines Hamas, Iran and Iran’s other destructive proxies in the region.”
Just as Neville Chamberlain negotiated “peace in our time” with Hitler, the outcome of unilateral recognition of Palestinian statehood would not discourage violence and extremism, but reward it.
“The two foreign ministers are ideal candidates for the award, since recognition of a Palestinian state without demanding that Palestinian leaders first commit to ending terrorism and violence and committing to a negotiated settlement could not be a clearer reward for October 7,” says Pat604Johnson, who initiated the award and who makes up the entire judging committee for the first annual prestigious award. The winner or winners will be announced at the end of 2024. “The message these two leaders are sending is that mass murder, rape, beheadings, immolations and kidnappings are the way to get what you want.”
Rewarding Palestinian terrorism with diplomatic recognition ignores the real roots of this conflict and is the definition of appeasement, in the spirit of the later former British prime minister who negotiated “peace in our time” with Hitler by recognizing Hitler’s annexation of the Sudetenland.
There could not be a more direct declaration telling not only Palestinian terrorists, but all parties considering whether violence is a practical means to an end, that mass killing will be rewarded by erstwhile civilized nations.
A negotiated, two-state solution is the only resolution to this conflict — and that cannot and must not occur until Palestinians agree to peaceful coexistence and a there is a mutual recognition of the other’s right to exist. Putting pressure on Israel, with no commensurate pressure on Palestinians, is to ensure continued violence and terrorism rather than a peaceful resolution. Wong and Cameron both deny the fundamental roots of the problem — that Palestinian violence, not Israeli responses, are the problem.
If you have a nominee for the 2024 Neville Chamberlain Award for Appeasement, make your suggestion in the comments!
Sending money to Iran is an appeasement strategy that might be in the running.
I think you're being a bit unfair to Neville Chamberlain. At least his appeasement gave the Allies time to rearm. These two are idiotic cowards.
I'd also suggest Kier Starmer, Joe Biden and most of the leaders of the Western World.....
