Pat, your observations are so spot-on. So what do we do to make the "woke" see how painfully unawake they are on this issue, and to encourage the same kind of examination of unconscious bias that they can't wait to examine if it's about any other bigotry?
Just keep pounding away and calling out their hypocrisy. If they won't come to their senses, at least others will recognize their irrelevance and treat them as they deserve.
An independent review of complaints against Goldsmith's College, University of London related to antisemitism was recently handed down, finding a shocking level of antisemitism about which the University had completely failed to address. I suspect that an independent review of several Canadian universities would discover similar levels of abuse and an unresponsive administration.
Yes, in 202 Dr. Ayalet Kuper wrote a damning report about antisemitism at the U Toronto Temerty Faculty of Medicine, shockingly to me, given that the school's benefactory, Jim Temerty, of Ukrainian heritage, provided generous financial support to launch the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter, an outreach effort that started back in 2014 with a show of story boards of history that toured Canada and the US to promote relations between Ukrainians and Jews and continues.
We've got a whole bunch of findings and reports in American universities as well. Complete disregard for the civil rights violations, harassment, discrimination, ostracization and violence against Jewish students, and zero accountability or will to address any of it. Because racism against Jewish students "depends upon the context."
Yes, who is the racist? The one who says, as I do, that they support full human rights for every human regardless of their skin color, racial(ized) identity, sexual identity or gender identity, or the white person who says that it's okay for brown and black LGBTQ and female identified people to be denied human rights because their oppression is part of their culture?
Could you tell me what you mean by “white people saying it’s ok for brown and black LGBTQ and female identified people to be denied human rights because their oppression is part of their culture” ? Example of a person who thinks that way?
(And - with apologies for straying from the topic of antisemitism, but my query comes from your response - why only female identified people? I’m thinking here of the recent ruling regarding the definition of a woman(which was passed in Scotland but overruled by Westminster) which will - already has - affect not only trans women, but trans men, too; we/they seldom get mentioned)
I just don’t understand what you mean by “their oppression is part of their culture”: In what ways? If the answer is obvious, my apologies… I have some cognitive trouble discerning written meaning and need things to be put as simply as possible.

What a world. Yes, I'm sure Canadian universities could report similar things. I recommend the brand new book by my friend Ted Rosenberg: https://www.amazon.ca/Ayekha-Where-Are-You-Antisemitism/dp/1069574600/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1XBLITXLYSUIU&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.ObElLZEUCLMRf9G6ThQSqCjAdzO85_337kr4W6MYtSi4UsASCfmTJGEA2Cx2H0i4.45hyA1Q7VAE2PNGPX-Ihh2TaN25ZbNbdukMGx8VMzI0&dib_tag=se&keywords=ted+rosenberg&qid=1751064684&sprefix=ted+rosenber%2Caps%2C190&sr=8-1

Have read # pinksoiling but yet to comment. Great piece and will do so either tonight or tomorrow.

Very eloquently stated!
