I like the idea of compiling the posts into a book. While this isn’t my area of focus and I won’t be participating, I hope others will contribute to a project like this.
Regarding the no-paywall approach, thank you for your generosity. As for me, I’m still uncertain about my source of income after December 2024, as it will cease, but I’m well aware it won’t be coming from Substack, but it is great to hear that some people get supported - well deserved!
I agree to a point. My cynical and sad view is that western anti-Israel activists know full well that they spouting off lies, but their hatred of Jews is their number one motivation. And yes, that includes any and all useful idiot Jewish anti-Israel activists.
Yes, that is absolutely part of it. And complicated by the fact that these people often do not understand what antisemitism looks like and so don';t recognize it in themselves. There are lots of explanations ...
Another fantastic essay. Pat. I agree with all of it but (‘consider the source’ context: I am a full-throttled Zionist Israeli / American / gay parent of teenagers about to reach draft age) The Palestinians are not the only party fulfilling the (Einstein?) quote defining insanity. If Israel •• which really is in control of the Palestinian territories including, again now, Gaza •• would practice radical kindness (chesed) and aggressively build / rebuild infrastructure, housing, schools, restaurants, cinemas etc, all of the things that the cynical-likely-jihadist “leadership” have denied their people who knows that the result would be? It would definitely be different and it’s quite likely, based on my own, many experiences in the territories, that the people would topple the criminals and death cults that hold them captive but are currently their only source of governance.
I'm grateful for your clear-minded perspective beautifully articulating how badly those claiming to be pro-Pali are damaging those they claim to be advocating for. When all else fails the Jew hate baked into too many psyches takes precedence for these people.
This is the best analysis I have seen yet, and I constantly research to try to understand why the behavior of the demonstrators is so counter productive to their stated goals. Here’s what sums that up for me. A student at Portland State University, after the library take over and vandalism this last spring,”I used to no care about what was going on in the Middle East, but now I hate the Palestinians because I need library access to graduate!”

As usual, spot on.

Ok. Come and get me!
Making a contribution to you now, Pat!
You have that in focus. Thanks!
I notice some Substackers have a one-time donation button or a 'buy me a coffee' button. Please explore those?

Pat - this is a banger and a harsh truth that needs to be repeated - restacking now.
Last week I wrote about how the far left has doomed Palestinians:

Hahaa. Yeah, activists making friends everywhere they go.
An excellent summary of the key points and an effective antidote to the nonsense being spouted by the "Hysterics for Hamas" fools.
Excellent - thank you Pat. shared.
