If only there were an institution where you could borrow books for free, or some futuristic handheld device with the sum total of human knowledge at your fingertips!
There’s a clear difference between speech and physical intimidation and violence. Creating a human chain to block students isn’t sharing a viewpoint; it’s intended to frighten people. Share a message; don’t make people afraid for their physical safety.
I’ve just imported this excerpt into the Facebook group I run: “Is it a “Free Palestine” they’re after? Hardly. These may be the emptiest, cheapest words in the progressive vocabulary. An independent Palestine would be one the least free places on earth. As I keep banging away on, activists who chant this empty slogan demonstrate not a hint of concern for the rights of Palestinian women, LGBTQ+ people, religious or ethnic minorities (such as there may be remaining in the already-totalitarian, xenophobic dystopia of Palestine) or anyone else, except insofar as the interests of these Palestinians can be used as a battering ram against Israel.”
Spot on! This: "What they are having an impact on is the state of civil discourse in our countries. They are exacerbating the worst divisions in our societies and fanning the flames of a dangerous inferno of anti-Jewish hate. They know this. And they rejoice in it."
Strange parallels between the keffiyah/surgical mask get-up and the robes and hoods donned by the KKK. Wayward idiots who lack the courage of their convictions and must hide their faces. It is not for shame, but because they do not know who they are to begin with and are drawn to the idea of acceptance and belonging, love which has eluded them in life. Also, they are hypocritical brats who wish to get capitalist-created jobs once they leave college.
I attempted to share this excellent blog post on my FB page...and it was immediately declined. "It looks like you tried to get likes, follows, shares or video views in a misleading way " WTF??
Has anyone seen an actual list of the stocks that any of these schools is supposed to forego? Are we supposed to fine-tune this to address only offensive weapons? After all we would not want to say Israel can’t block incoming ordnance, would we? So if Raytheon, say, makes Patriot missiles but nothing offensive is that permissible?
Sorry to be a pain about this but distinctions matter don’t they?
Your point is entirely rational. But that is the problem. These are not people who are thinking this through. And the larger point is that most of these activists do not know WHAT it is they are protesting.

Thanks for writing!
Out of all the horror, this one image made me laugh:
“…everything you know about this conflict you learned from TikTok and handbills you got from a green-haired girl carrying a Soviet flag.
It’s true. And terrible. And so absurd.
Thanks for this article. I agree with every word. Keep up the good work.
Thanks David!
Excellent piece.
Great Article
"I'm not touching you! I'm not touching you!" Brilliant.
How did Biden have time to call for the downfall of a democratically elected PM?
There's that, too, yes.

Weird indeed!
