THIS!!!!!

"Had Palestinian (and the broader Arab and Muslim) leaders ever been willing to live in peaceful coexistence with Jews, there would be nothing to “resist.” Had the Palestinian and Arab leadership accepted the partition resolution in 1947; had they not launched genocidal war in 1948 and again in 1967; if they had accepted the invitation for a Palestinian state in 1967, instead of responding with the famous three no’s); if they had accepted any of the endless opportunities to live in a Palestinian state alongside a Jewish state, there would be peace and Palestinian self-determination today."

....an' to all ya've said here: it could'a should'a been--a DAYANU! (i.e. it would'a been enuf an' peace should'a could'a happened-- ALL these many times Israel wuz FULLY willin' ta make peace, givin' up territory to "make it happen," an' yet ALL these many times the Arabs gave 'em the Middle Finger... as ye say, REGARDLESS of the "right or left" in power at the time.

ANY of these opportunities, HAD the Arabs met Israel halfway--would'a been enuf...

THANK ya ever so much fer yer brilliant an' heartfelt support!

I particularly "like" the people on Canada that compare Arabs in Gaza, and Judea and Samaria to the indigenous people of Canada. While the reconciliation issues in Canada are very complex, I think they got the sides mixed up. :)

So good, Pat, like all of your essays. This is just one more Soviet inversion. Resistance, genocide, apartheid etc. are all applied to

the wrong side.

I would appreciate any and all book recommendations on the 19th and early 20th century history of Palestine. As I understand it, most “Palestinians” were in fact Arab immigrants from this period. I am looking for whatever source information is available to substantiate this.

There is a very good essay by Elyse Wein that outlines exactly that history, with some references. I am sure she has written about it elsewhere as well.

Ahh, another apologist for mass corporate murder. No… it’s all their fault….. apparently. The intransigence you suggest by both has been countered by murder of a genocidal scale by the other hankering for land that is now forever bloodsoaked by the innocent. Undoubtedly you’ll get it…. May your vines wither.
