Spot on. Moreover, Franco used Moroccan "regulares" who saw their fight as a 'holy war' against secularism. They went on to commit horrific war crimes and raped their way through Republican strongholds like the Ciudad Jardín in Seville, in the same way as Hamas did after October 7th

Haha, "if only they knew the term", priceless! Today's activists cant find their way out of a paper bag, never mind draw an accurate historical parallel.

I have commented on other piece about how dumbfounded I am over Israel's terrible PR. The history is on their side and they should turning the notions of settler-colonialism and imperialism on their enemies, who in 7th century forcefully conquered the Near East and North Africa. So rather than apatheticly dismissing these accusations against Israel, level them against the actual imperialists who are seeking the return of the global caliphate - at least that would be accurate.

I know this is not a super productive approach, but sometime I feel like to overpower a bullhorn you just need a louder bullhorn. A russian saying goes, against a hammer, use a bigger hammer.
