I have said over and over that a Hamas surrender would have ended the whole deadly mess months ago. This is the FIRST post I have seen ANYWHERE making that all-too-obvious point. When people ignore the obvious there is always a reason.
People on Facebook acted as though they could not hear me, or as if I were writing in hieroglyphics. On September 2, 1945 Japan ended the killing of its people by surrendering aboard the Battleship Missouri. Thank God SOMEONE else out there can not only perceive the obvious but dares to speak it! Much obliged.
Happened again yesterday. I raised the point that thousands of Palestinian lives could have been saved had Hamas surrendered in, say, November. What I got in response was The Sound of Silence.
It's baffling. The only conclusion can be that saving the lives of Palestinians is less important to these people than winning an argument. I think that may be precisely the problem. Tens of thousands of dead are the price they are willing to pay for the right to condemn Israel as the embodiment of evil. Way to free Palestine.
I had a similar experience years ago with a book I wrote calling into question claims and assumptions of environmental justice activists. I’m not anti-EJ but raised important caveats that were obvious to anyone who had studied government and economics. Literally a book ANYONE could have written had to wait for ME to write it because everyone pretended that the limitations and drawbacks of EJ advocacy didn’t exist. And to this day the activists pretend that my work never existed. Ideology freezes minds like that.
Hamas wants it both ways: (1) as if they were civilians, and (2) as if they were fighters and war-makers. They started a war and did not think they would have to answer for the consequences.
Exactly. If you don’t do that, you’re siding with a genocidal death cult against the Jewish state. And remember, comrades: You’re known by the company you keep.
“Why won’t they?” The roots of that question are deep and full of jealousy, self-hatred, wanton violence, and rank ignorance. Thank you for this post.
The Activists dont like to hear this kind of talk.
Akin to hands over ears screaming nana nana boogie , like my daughters use to scream at each other, When they were little.
Its pathetic, and obscene.

YES!

Spot on. Unfortunately, this won’t be read by the people who need to read it the most. Even, then they wouldn’t believe a word.
Well said, and the exact argument/position I was making to family after Easter dinner last night. So clear it can’t be seen for smoke and mirrors!
